The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki continues to invest in safety and prevention, significantly enhancing the readiness of the university community to respond to emergency situations.

The Independent Civil Protection Office of AUTh, in collaboration with the School of Education, organized an informational seminar on First Aid in Basic Life Support (BLS) on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

The initiative aimed to inform, raise awareness, and train staff and students in the proper and immediate response to emergency incidents, as well as in the safe use of defibrillators—a skill that can prove critical in saving human lives.

The organization and delivery of the training were undertaken by Mr. Dimitrios Kalaitzidis from the Civil Protection Office, Mr. Iordanis Mantzaridis, a retired member of the same office and volunteer rescuer, Ms. Alexandra Papadopoulou, Head of the Secretariat of the Dean’s Office of the School of Education, and Mr. Angelos Neokazis, certified BLS/ERC instructor and representative of V. & I. Mantzaris S.A.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki now operates a modern network of over 30 defibrillators across its campus, substantially contributing to the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
